found an article about C. ronaldo:
... could be forgiven for thinking that the criminals and the corrupt are getting a better reception right now, but Cristiano Ronaldo serves as a barometer for opinion on Portugal at the moment.
He's not a pariah, he's a very gifted boy. There are plenty who use 'winker' as a euphemism, hold him solely responsible for Wayne Rooney's red card and profess themselves outraged at his attempts to procure a penalty.
Then there is another school of thought - to which this observer subscribes - of those who regard him as one of the finest wingers in the World Cup and admire his nerveless penalty-taking.
And Ronaldo, widely vilified, has become a microcosm of Portugal.
i have to admit that all this criticism about him is getting to me. it is depressing that everyone hates him when we cannot deny that he is an excellent player and his best is yet to be.
i tell you, in a few years time, he IS going to be one of the finest footballer in the world, and his name will among those of Pele, Beckham, Zidane and Co.
I know he tends to dive quite a lot, we must not forget that he is still young and so, GIVE HIM TIME! there's still many more things for him to learn, and i believe with a good coach, he will become an outstanding player.
to all you people out there who claims that he's a crybaby..
#@$%#@$#$%^%!@(^%$#@#!!
you people are just ignorant selfish suckling pigs!
cant you be more sensitive? must you destroy this young lad's dream?
you think it's everyday that anyone can play all the way to the semi-finals of the world cup?
Fans cry when the teams they support lose. Players cry when they lose very important matches. Do you know how it feels when the trophy is just at your fingertips but you just couldnt reach it?
It is perfectly fine to cry on national television, even Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampardm, Steven Gerrard does it! i dun see you people make a laughing stock out of them! so why attack him?
i do not care whether he had or had not asked for a red card, that's not for us to judge. what's done is done. just go on with your life! if you are so unhappy, go be a referee!
