i had planned to blog when i finally had confirmation that i had my cust service job...but somehow along the way, there were many screw-ups.

ended up giving up the job and was looking for new ones with the help of 2 recruit agencies and everything was back on track when BAM! they called me on 19/12 and said they needed me to work the next day.

i guess i ought to elaborate more about my job right?

let me see...i am a cust service officer for sis technologies. basically dopod cust come in to the service center to get their PDA phones fixed and to collect their repaired phones.

and since these people can afford PDA phones, 9 out of 10 cust are rich businessmen who travels a LOT and are busy busy busy.

so they complain about not being able to be without their phones for more than a day and insist for loan phones or to get their phones fixed immediately that kind of stuff. and usually they are not polite about it.

others complain that they spend over a thousand bucks for a phone that spoils within a week and demand a replacement phone.

or others come in just wanting to vent their anger on me.

poor me.

others can get really really ridiculous like this one.

he came in to collect his phone which had a faulty camera fixed. *note: his phone is already FIXED.
him:so by the way, why does your phone not have chinese software???
me: yes sir, we have a chinese support program which is CE-star.
him: yes, i know. but that's not what i want. CE-star uses traditional chinese but i often travel to china for business and they use simplified chinese. do you know that i have to go to china and pay people 80 bucks just to fix the chinese os? and i have to remove it before i can get my phone fixed??? i want a CHINESE os!!!(operating system).
[so i went into the tech room and asked the technicians.]
me: okay sir, i've made an enquiry for you. my technicians said that we do not have the software to the chinese os and --
him: no, you dont get it! OKAY. answer this question. dopod is a from taiwan right?
me: yes sir
him: so why do your not have a chinese os? if i buy the phone from taiwan, the phones come with the chinese windows os! but i know that if i buy the phone from overseas, my waranty would be void here!
[so i went to ask the technicians again]
me: sorry sir. you see, we get the whole package from dopod and it is english variant. and thus, we do not have the software that-
him: you do not understand what i'm trying to say!
him:[and he tries to re-explain everything from scratch like i'm an IT-idiot.]
[so i was about to go into the tech room again when one of the superior came out.]
superior: are you the one who needs help?
me: huh? yeah yeah...
so he went to talk to the cust for me and PHEW!!!

omg. that cust took more than an hour of my life la!
